Commemorating the 30th anniversary of Bob Marley’s death, German magazine Der Spiegel published an interview with Teja Schwaner, a journalist who accompanied Marley on his tour through Germany in 1976. The story entitled »Als der Messias mein Gras rauchte« [»When Messiah smoked my herb.«], deals with Bible classes in Bob’s tour bus, smoked-out soccer games in hotel gardens and a divine revelation in Marley’s hotel room.

I especially like the part in which Schwaner reveals Marley’s answer being asked what he would know about Germany:

»Hitler, Müller, Beckenbauer.«
