Boogie ls. Nike
posted on October 9th, 2007 by Tobias in Design, Event, Fashion, PhotographyThis one is not really Jamaica-related. Well, actually for me it is, as I got to really know the work of the person this post is about during my stay in Kingston. P. D. Rickards introduced me to some of his material I hadn´t seen before and which really impressed me. I´m talking about the shots of Boogie, a Serbian photographer who has spent a big part of his live documenting the darker side of New York´s society. Crack, Guns, Gangs, you name it. His work has appeared in the New York Times, The Rolling Stone, Time Magazine, and so on. Recently, he seems to do more and more “corporate” stuff, too. After some of his older pictures were used for the same “Lee”-campaign, P. D. Rickards´ shots were featured in, he now worked for Nike. That´s why the sneaker giant is putting up an exhibtion with Boogie´s photographies in Harlem. So if you´re a New York resident or in NYC in autumn, don´t miss that:
