Tonight, the last Man Recordings festa for 0-10 will see Schlachthofbronx, Douster, Bert on Beats, and Oliver $ behind the decks in our fine German capital (club Maria, Stralauer Platz 33-34). Here is what label boss Daniel Haaksman (who, of course, will play some tunes as well) has to say upfront:
Despite arctic temperatures and meters of snow in Berlin, we’re about to bring a night of tropical Heat to Berlin. Make sure to bring towels!!
RSVP on Facebook. Doors open at 11pm.

If you are lucky enough to not be stuck at a German airport due to heavy snow fall but find yourself in Trinidad and Tobago right now, we heavily recommend to visit »Show & Tell 12« at studiofilmclub tomorrow night.
The final installment of the Show & Tell event series this year will see
a decade of Jamaican cultural documentation through digital, photography, music, video, and writing
by our friend Peter Dean Rickards. Rickards will be showing his work in Laventille near Port of Spain.
Find more information on the event over at Ross Sheil’s blog and RSVP via Facebook.
PS: Don’t leave Trinidad after the event but make sure to go see Damian Marley and Nas performing at the Hasley Crawford Stadium two days later. The latter might even wear one of our shirts…

We already shared the audios of Red Bull Music Academy’s Culture Clash 2010. We don’t want to miss you out on an amazing rundown of the event either: The people over at Loudat attended the clash and sum it up a little something like this:
It wasn’t until the closing minutes of the soundclash did it become clear just how out of touch Skream, Benga,Goldie and their crew of swaggering cock-ends really were. Firing insults at each other over the crowd and rewinding every track made for a spectacle, but certainly didn’t make for a party. The solid and confident delivery from Channel 1 never wavered, they knew what they were doing and they stuck to their guns.Entertaining the crowd and forwarding their message of music and niceness.
Channel 1 were the only real soundsystem at Culture Clash and it showed. They’re the only ones that have for years run a rig, thrown parties to promote their sound, actively support their community and push a message of conciousness which is everything a soundsystem should stand for.

Last Thursday, for the second time, Red Bull Music Academy hosted a soundclash called Culture Clash:
This time, reigning champion Goldie and his Metalheadz crew stood against a dubstep allstar team fronted by Skream & Benga, the legendary Channel One, and Soul Jazz’s Oxman. [...] Were Oxman and Channel One be able to turn their legendary status and unfuckwitable experience as entertainers into actual competitiveness? Did dubstep have a chance against the Headz’ party prowess? Was there as much controversy around the ref’s decision as last time?
Check the audios of the event to find out.

On Sunday, October 17th, 2010, a launch reception will take place at the new Pascal Condominium (333 East 109th Street, New York City) from 12:00 to 2:30pm for which the architect decided to feature James Van Der Zee prints juxtaposed against Peter Dean Rickards‘.
So, if you’re in the area this Sunday, drop by. I’m the guy by the bar.
