Call me paranoid, but browsing my favourite German online shop for cool apparel, Frontline, I came across Nike´s new ring finger tee which I couldn´t help reminding me of one of our very own shirts :-). Compare yourself in the picture above. And if you´re quick, you can get hold of the very final medium sized “One” shirt in our store.

In other world brand news, Ecko Unlimited seems to be running perimeter advertising in English football arenas. At least I saw some watching Manchester City´s UEFA cup match tonight. Not too innovative but still impressive.

Also trying to Hustle and Grow is our friend Khalil who used to be known as Ill Inspecta, Germany´s finest dancehall deejay, and who´s one of the guys you can currently see on our store front page. He officially ended his professional music career at the end of October and moves on to heigher heights in the web business now. All the best for that, man!  All who want to follow his path – keep checking back to his blog:

I will talk about my hustle in the music business and in the tech industry. My goal is to enrich myself through the pursuit of my goals and encourage others to do the same.

Probably nice to read, too: “Streetwear History” (via Artschoolvets) and “A Powerful Guide to Your Own Clothing Line” (via A Better Tomorrow).

Dancehall man-of-the-moment, Mavado, has placed his stamp of approval on a new clothing line that has been dubbed “Gully Side Wear” – themed in support of the “Gully Side” that Mavado has deejayed and sung about since he burst on the scene in 2005.

A designer, Franklin Garnett, and Mavado’s sister Joey Brooks are the persons behind the Mavado clothing line which will be launched in December at Mavado’s birthday bash. It will feature t-shirts, baby Ts, cotton shorts, caps and bags of various designs. (via Dancehall.Mobi)

Curious how this will look like. Hopefully it won´t be the Ed Hardy-style tight-top-collection I kind of expect it to be.

Anything

Quite a list of stuff for a Friday: The quote above was ripped out of an funny to irritating interview with Roots Manuva found on State magazine. Two more articles more (Wildlife) or less (Gleaner) worth reading are a Gleaner piece on violent dancehall lyrics and a Wildlife! feature in Kinki magazine (via 45ers).

In case you´re brain prefers audio/visual information to text, check Cyan Wait´s latest edition of basses for the masses, 77Klash´s performance of “Caroline” at CMJ 2008 and the footage of Superhorstjansen´s first fashion show in Hamburg, Germany.

P.S. As you´re money won´t be worth anything soon anyway, invest in Ronny Trettmann’s, Uwe Kaa’s and the Roots Rockers’ latest releases now available at SoulForce and Amazon.

And Rockers NYC pointed me to an excellent BBC documentary on The Specials.

Not sure how regular I will be able to post updates here on the weekend as I will spend most of my time until Sunday at the Designers’ Open design festival in Leipzig, Germany.
In case you get bored over checking back here and not finding any news, read Cyan Wait and/or browse Karmaloops Women’s underwear section
