The Afflicted Yard Exhibition
Gallery Milieu Digital, Bern (CH)
Vernissage: Saturday, November 10th, 2007, 8 p.m.
Picture changes to take place on November 11th and December 1st.
For the first time ever, Peter Dean Rickards alias The Afflicted Yard will exhibit his work.
Since 1999, he has been capturing Jamaican lifestyle and culture with all their roughness: violence, sex, drugs and music. His pictures are totally authentic without being provocative for any means.
His visual portfolio includes bloody scenes from a meat market in Kingston, Jamaican ganglords showing off their weapons or fascinating portraits of famous Jamaican personalities like Lee Scratch Perry, Sizzla, Buju Banton, Monty Alexander and Sean Paul.
His work has been published in I-D magazine, Lodown, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Complex, Vibe, NEON or XLR8TR and is all over the web, too. Just recently, Rickards´ set of two drunk model chicks in Miami appeared on numerous fashion- and photo-blogs.
