Why isn´t there a Jamaican street fashion blog?

With the Caribbean Fashion Week coming up, I was asking myself once again why there is still no Jamaican street fashion blog out there and why there isn´t even one single Jamaican submission on sites like Lookbook.nu which has pictures from e.g. Malaysia, Mexico and Brazil.
Is it the lack of money for equipment? Is it the lack of access to the online world? Is it Jamaicans not being interested in style and fashion? Is it the lack of attractive people?
I don´t think so. Look at the music business which has always been at the edge of the technological evolution. Look at sites like the Afflicted Yard and the vast number of Jamaicans on social networks like Facebook and Hi5. Look at pictures from back in the days as well as shots from today. Look at these girls.
So what is it then?
I don’t think the ghetto youths are blogging that hard… They’re trying to survive…
But if you really wanna see what they’re wearing watch a Passa Passa DVD or check for music videos on Youtube (ie whatever DIY clip Kartel made that week)… Mix in some uptown artsy types like Afflicted and i think that about covers it…
There’s a Japanese mag that’s flicks of NYC kids from the hood (mostly Brooklyn, in places like Brownsville, Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights and Flatbush where a lot of Caribbean people live)… The name escapes me, but I remember a DeadlyDragons ad in it, so maybe try them to get the name… I feel like that’s the closet you could get, maybe they have a Jamaica issue… Some other Japanese fashion mags have JA fashion specials too, mags like Ollie and Woofin’…

@lasonic: Well, obviously the ghetto youths have other things to worry about. But enough of them uptown teensters drivin around in daddy´s X5 woulda have the time, money and devices to document Jamaican fashion/style outside the dancehall circus which for me is at least as interesting. Thanks for the head up to the Japanese mags though.

let’s not over sensationalize ghetto youths…
While i somewhat agree with the comments thus far….remember ours( jamaican) tends to be a very oral tradition. Most videos, books, images , movies etc tend be done by outsiders or those who have lived outside and grew a deeper appreciation for our culture. Digital cameras are common place uptown and downtown…….how important is to to blog……not very i guess. There are a few….
i wish i lived in Ja still to capture the ever evolving fashion…..
